K44X – 1.4521

Our KARA range. The “X” means that this 19% chromium with molybdenum, niobium stabilised Ferritic Stainless Steel is ideal for exhaust applications.

Main features

Good weldability; ease of forming; good resistance to corrosion (in exhaust gas environments) and high temperature oxidation and creep (up to 1050°C); good durability in thermal fatigue; enhanced hot mechanical properties (without risk of σ phase formation at intermediate temperatures); greater thermal conductivity and lower expansion coefficient than austenitic grades.

  • A range of parts used in vehicles exhaust line and engines (manifolds, tubes, particulate filter, catalysor shells and EGR systems)
