World bee day

Have you heard the buzz? It’s world bee day! In addition to their essential role as pollinators, at Aperam, they also serve on the frontlines of air pollution. Working with local actors, several of our sites (Gueugnon, Isbergues and Châtelet, along with our Service Centre in Poland) have installed beehives from which bees can gather pollen from the surrounding area. We then analyze this pollen and the resulting honey as a means of monitoring our air emissions. As an added bonus, our employees get to enjoy some delicious honey!
