Sustainability Report 2021

Today, Aperam publishes its annual sustainable performance report. Despite the ongoing global health, economic and political challenges, our report highlights how 2021 was full of important sustainability related milestones. For instance, we became the first Stainless Steel company to become ResponsibleSteel certified. We also made progress towards our goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050, improving our state-of-the-art CO2e (Scope 1 & 2) footprint with proven carbon sequestration from our forestry. On the social side of the equation, we continue to improve our safety performance, as well as enhance our commitment to diversity and inclusion. And as a result of our recent acquisition of ELG, a global leader in stainless steel and super alloy recycling, we are now even better positioned to lead the Circular Economy.
