* Near-zero carbon footprint products with an up to 50% reduction in emissions compared with our standard products (scope 1+2+3 upstream), and a reduction of up to 85% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to industry average. Calculation based on 6tCO₂e/t eq. carbon in imported steels.

Stainless steel - the perfect material for meeting the world’s sustainability challenges now and in the future
Stainless steel meets the requirements of the three axes of the circular economy – durability, recyclability and sustainability. It’s corrosion-resistant, durable and has an almost infinite life compared to other materials. The world is hungry to develop – stainless steel is the way to do this sustainably.
We’ve chosen the name ‘infinite’ for our near-zero* product range because stainless steel is infinitely recyclable, infinitely usable, infinitely adaptable and ultimately, we believe, infinitely good.

What is Aperam infinite™
Aperam infinite™ is designed for today and the future. It currently includes a number of grades, including 304 for austenitic and multiple ferritic grades. We plan to gradually expand the Aperam infinite™ product range and ramp up production volumes.
In Europe, Aperam infinite™ is made with up to 98% recycled material content and achieves up to 85%* reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to industry standards.
Aperam infinite™ steels are made with advanced recycling methods, renewable energy, sustainably sourced ores and charcoal biomass.
Benefiting our customers
- An accelerated path to help customers achieve their CO₂ reduction goals, including scope 3 emissions, enhancing their sustainability credentials.
- An opportunity for customers to use more recycled materials in making their products, thanks to our closed loop process.
- The ability to offer consumers products that have a low environmental impact and a high proportion of recyclable material.
Additional benefits include brand protection, differentiation from competitors and our support in helping customers comply with regulatory requirements.
Made with up to 98% recycled material content
Aperam infinite™ benefits from our advanced expertise in the recovery, recycling and reuse of scrap metal and melt-shop dust. This is made possible by our Aperam Recycling subsidiary, which records 1.3Mt of recycled raw materials per year. Aperam Recycling is involved in a fast-growing number of circular economy projects.
Produced using renewable or sustainable energy
And we’ve only just begun...
The significant CO₂ emissions associated with extraction add to those generated during the stainless steel production process. That is why we continue to reimagine our sourcing and industrial processes and invest in reducing emissions across the value chain – from extraction to production.
Knowing that this alone will not be enough, we have also implemented a broader, more circular vision.
Day-by-day, and in collaboration with our partners and customers, we are building a robust circular system – one that encompasses the entire stainless steel value chain – with the aim of closing the loop as much as we can.
